well, unless you're unlucky enough to run across some kind of animal FBI, who's going to stop you? "HEY! You've got a duck or some shit in your backpack! HALT!" I'd take him home and imprint.
Actually the park rangers would stop me. All the birds are federally protected and messing with them in any way, or even just taking their feathers off of the ground, is a federal offense. I can't imagine what would happen if I brought one home with me.
