aren't you off to such a great start? Sigh.

Sunday night was the first time I've hated this city. I got better though.

I do hate this new time. The days go by so fast and the nights seem to drag on forever. I used to love the dark but right now all I want is sun and running around outside and being in nature. It doesn't help that all of a sudden we're in the middle of full-fledged summer weather up here.

Garrett will be here tomorrow night and then I've got 4 days off, on 3 of which I will be hanging out with him. I hope the weather lasts through then. We will have epic hikes and beaches and exploration and adventure.

So I've been making terrariums like mad for the past few days. Right now I'm using very special found materials to make them, instead of buying plants, but I can't say where I'm getting the plants/bones from because it's super top secret. But I will show you pictures.

Fleet Week

So last weekend was Fleet Week. I'm not really into airshows and planes and shit, and I saw it all last year, but I have to say that watching the Blue Angels fly over us from the roof of the cellhouse was pretty thrilling. Must be my adrenaline-junkie side kicking in again. I got some pretty cool pictures. The grey skies were apparently detrimental to their flying, but I think they add a nice surreal aspect to the pictures.

I took some video too which I'll probably upload soon.

This weekend has been W-I-N

Thus far I have done these things:

Went to Nightlife at the Academy of Sciences and looked at animals and sort of learned things.
Went to The Silver Spur dressed in my finest cowboy gear with a boy also dressed in his cowboy gear.
Got inspired by watching far too much Project Runway and took scissors, paint, and the sewing machine to a bunch of my clothes to make new things out of old things.
Painted
Went barhopping with Chris and leered at cute boys who I'm pretty sure were all gay but that made it kind of hotter.
Went on a solo two-hour hike around Stow Lake, up Strawberry Hill, and through random parts of Golden Gate Park. Took some pictures.
Bought supplies for collaging

I will probably start on some collaging in a bit. And since I don't work until 1:45 tomorrow afternoon I can totally go out! Now to find something to do tonight.....

I just saw Charles for the first time in 2 years. He and Ryan came up to visit. 5 days of no work. More alcohol than I can believe a 95 lb girl could consume. EPIC WIN. Pictures are coming soon.

Another 12 hour day. It was a good one. I have a four day weekend this week, starting Thursday. Charles and Ryan will be up on Friday. Three days of shenanigans will follow. I don't think the city is ready. I need to rest up.
